Jailer 2 Holds Strong on Its Second Tuesday and Eyes the Rs 500 Crore Mark

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is still going strong. Even on a weekday in its second week, the film keeps adding crores and edging toward a milestone few Tamil films have reached.

Tuesday’s Numbers

Jailer 2 collected Rs 8.75 crore on Tuesday, down about 20% from Monday. That takes its India gross to Rs 462.75 crore. Pinkvilla’s headline calls it the “1st Tuesday,” but its own table lists it as the 2nd Tuesday, so I’ve gone with day 13 of release.

Jailer 2: Day-Wise India Gross

*Sum of the eight daily figures in Pinkvilla’s table, with an opening day of Rs 67.50 crore.

What Happens Next?

The film is expected to close its second week at around Rs 480 crore. At this pace, the Rs 500 crore mark in India looks within reach. In Tamil Nadu, it may enter the Rs 200 crore club as early as the third weekend.

Regional Wins

• Karnataka and Kerala: It has already become the biggest Tamil grosser in both states.
• Hindi belt: The Tamil-dubbed version is heading toward roughly Rs 40 crore. That’s a solid total for a dubbed film without a release in the national chains.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Sun Pictures, the film has also been listed among the top Tamil-dubbed titles in the Hindi market. Read more about the superstar on Rajinikanth’s Wikipedia page, and catch more box office news in our latest entertainment updates.

Why the Run Matters?

A 20% weekday dip in week two is considered healthy for a big release. It means word of mouth is still working, and that the film has a good chance of holding on through the next weekend. Keep an eye on the third Friday, when new releases could cut into its screen count.
