Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Is Live Now: Play the Story Before Launch Day

Why wait for launch day when the story is already playable? Activision has opened Campaign Early Access for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and for Indian fans there’s a bonus: one mission is set in Mumbai.

What’s the Story?

Sixteen missions take you across the Korean Peninsula, Paris, New York and Mumbai. You play Private Park Hyun Jun, who fights a full-scale invasion with his squad. Meanwhile, operator-turned-outlaw John Price hunts the person pulling the strings behind it all.

New to the saga? A “Story So Far” recap on the official blog covers the Urzikstan invasion, the beginnings of Task Force 141 and the clash between Captain Price and General Shepherd. Read the franchise’s background on Wikipedia.

Campaign Rewards

Finishing missions unlocks perks you can carry into Multiplayer and DMZ at launch. They include a run of Base Operators (such as Cho, Dallas, Luca and Park), calling cards, a loading screen, an emblem, and Double XP and Double Weapon XP tokens. Playing early means a head start on the day the servers fill up.

Your Pre-Launch Plan

1. Pre-order digitally to unlock Campaign access.
2. Finish the story and bank the rewards.
3. Jump into DMZ from October 20.
4. Squad up early by adding friends with Activision IDs and setting up crossplay parties.

Remember that Campaign access is only for digital pre-orders on the eligible editions, and it runs until the official launch.
