An Innocent Girl: Story
Sophie Walker is a fresh Harvard graduate who arrives in Washington full of idealism, determined to change the world. Then she is drawn in by a high-powered D.C. couple, the Vice President and her husband, and pulled into a secret affair. It quickly becomes a dangerous web of sex, power and murder.
The setup mixes political intrigue with psychological tension, and the title hints at an irony: how innocent is anyone in a city built on influence?
An Innocent Girl: Cast
The first three confirmed names are the film’s biggest draws:
- Kerry Washington plays an unnamed lead, likely the Vice President’s husband’s counterpart, and is also an executive producer. She has appeared in several Netflix titles, including American Son, The Prom and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
- James Marsden is likely playing the Vice President. He is known for the X-Men films and the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and on Netflix for Dead to Me and Unfrosted.
- Chloe East is most likely playing Sophie. Her credits include The Fabelmans and Heretic, and she appeared in Netflix’s No Good Deed.

When Will It Be Released?
Netflix has not announced a date or window. Filming began on April 23, 2026, and wrapped in early June in Bergen County and Middletown, New Jersey.
