Udta Teer has moved from 9th October to 23rd October 2026. The makers say the shift gives the film a cleaner theatrical window and a stronger runway, rather than compromising on screens in a suddenly crowded market. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan lead the film, which reunites them after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.
What Is Udta Teer About?
Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory after an accident in India and starts believing he’s an Indian counter-terrorism officer. He then fights for India with full patriotic zeal, even as he unknowingly turns against his own handlers. The poster shows him relaxing in a hammock strung between pillars marked India and Pakistan. Producer Guneet Monga Kapoor says the film is neither a spoof nor slapstick, and Ayushmann calls it India’s first patriotic comedy.

Why the New Date Could Work?
The earlier slot would have put the film against several other releases, and the makers say the trailer response has been encouraging. With the Drishyam sequel and The Vvaan finishing their runs, 23rd October should give it more screens and better footfall. It’s still a busy weekend, so check our look at Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar, which opens the same day.
