India’s top football league is finally getting its first title sponsor in three years. MG Motor is set to become the ISL title sponsor on a two-year deal worth over ₹25 crore, with the competition set to be officially renamed the MG Indian Super League (MG ISL).

The Deal Details
Final paperwork between MG and the league is in its closing stages and expected to be signed shortly. As part of the agreement, the MG logo will be added to the league’s crest, and MG cars will be awarded to the season’s best players.
Ending a Three-Year Sponsorship Gap
The Indian Super League has gone without a title sponsor since Hero MotoCorp ended its near-decade-long association following the 2022-23 season. Hero had backed the league since its inaugural 2014 season, also supporting other major competitions like the I-League and Indian national teams during that period.
MG Indian Super League: ISL 2026-27 Kicks Off October 10
The new season begins with a double-header: Bengaluru FC vs Sporting Club Delhi at 5:00 PM IST, followed by FC Goa vs Chennaiyin FC at 7:30 PM IST. Phase 1 will feature 78 matches running through January 17, 2027, with the league also expanding into Manipur for the first time.
Part of a Bigger Commercial Push
This sponsorship arrives as ISL clubs take charge of the league’s commercial operations under a new club-led structure. Recent deals include a four-year EA Sports FC licensing agreement, a ₹57 crore Sportradar partnership, and an extended Nivia Sports equipment deal — signalling strong commercial momentum heading into the new season.
