A hoodie may have just spoiled one of Marvel’s biggest Disney+ surprises of the year. According to The Direct, merchandise for VisionQuest, the sequel to WandaVision, all but confirms that the original Human Torch is joining the show.

The Clue Hidden in the Merch
At the D23 event, Marvel showed a painting of a man on fire, and fans guessed it was Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch.
Hot Topic’s new VisionQuest clothing line then made it clearer. Alongside Vision, Ultron and EDITH, some items mention a character called JIM, made by Burgos Labs. That name honours Carl Burgos, who created the Human Torch in the comics.
The theory already had support because Hammond briefly appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger. He is also an android, like Vision.
Who Is Jim Hammond?
In the comics, scientist Phineas Horton created him. The public didn’t trust him at first, but he won people over by fighting in World War II alongside Captain America, Bucky and Namor.
He later took a back seat to Johnny Storm before getting a second wind in recent titles.
Every Hero in VisionQuest So Far
Vision: The show follows White Vision, who was rebuilt by SWORD and still carries his old memories. He now has to work out who he was and who he wants to be.
Speed: Tommy Maximoff is hunting for his father in the trailer. He also wears a shirt that makes him look like a Blip denier, which could complicate things with Vision, who died trying to stop the Blip.
Paladin: He is a mercenary who avoids killing innocents but takes shady jobs for money. Marvel’s franchise loves morally grey characters, so his path is still open.
JIM (Human Torch): Expect him to show up in Vision’s mindscape, alongside the show’s other androids and AIs.
What Could Go Wrong for Vision?
The trailer also explains why Ultron has returned in a human form. If Ultron turns bad again, it could have real consequences beyond Vision’s mind. Vision may need all the help he can get if he wants to reunite with his family.
It is a big story for anyone who loved the first show. The WandaVision story is far from over.
