Jasprit Bumrah Gets Custom Pillow in Japan as Sanjana Ganesan Reacts Hilariously

Jasprit Bumrah received a custom-made pillow in Japan on September 23, 2026, and Sanjana Ganesan immediately turned the off-field moment into a social-media punchline.

The clip showed the India pacer trying a specially fitted pillow while teammate Axar Patel filmed the session. The exact name of the Japanese venue was not verified in the available coverage. What is clear is that the video came from Japan, where the pillow was prepared around Bumrah’s support and comfort requirements.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Japan pillow moment explained

The lighthearted video was shared by Axar Patel, who appeared behind the camera as Bumrah went through the fitting process. The India quick tested the custom pillow while the studio staff assessed the shape and support needed for the final product.

One report identified the brand as Jibunmakura, a Japanese company associated with custom-made pillows. The fitting process gave Patel plenty of scope for jokes, with the left-arm spinner filming his teammate and joining the conversation from behind the camera. Bumrah also brought his own humour to the clip. After Patel filmed the session, the pacer joked in Hindi, “Mere baad tu hai,” meaning that Axar was next in line.

Sanjana Ganesan’s reaction becomes the punchline

The funniest moment arrived in the comments section. Sanjana Ganesan responded to the video with, “You’ve gone ALL THE WAY to Japan to do this?” Her reaction captured the contrast between the elaborate international setting and the very ordinary purpose of the visit.

Bumrah’s answer made the exchange even sharper: “I won’t share the pillow when you ask for it.” That reply gave the clip its second layer of humour. Ganesan’s comment suggested disbelief at the trip, while Bumrah’s response treated the custom pillow as a prized possession that would not be surrendered easily. The interaction involved no match incident or performance update. It was simply a glimpse of the India players relaxing and sharing a playful moment in Japan.

cricket“>Why the clip works beyond cricket

The video offered a softer view of a player better known for intense bowling spells and demanding travel schedules. Instead of focusing on figures, wickets or selection debates, the exchange centred on a personalised sleeping aid and the banter between teammates. That contrast is what made the post travel.

Bumrah’s serious sporting image sat alongside Patel’s informal camerawork and Ganesan’s direct reaction. Readers tracking his on-field career can also revisit our archive’s Jasprit Bumrah: Five defining numbers, but this Japan clip belonged firmly to the lighter side of his public life. The moment also showed how teammates can create engaging content without staging a formal interview. Patel’s presence supplied the comic setup, while Bumrah and Ganesan provided the two lines that gave the exchange its shape. For more detail, see BBC Sport.

What happens next for the viral exchange?

There is no cricketing consequence attached to the video, and the available coverage does not connect it to a match result, injury update or selection decision. The significance is personal: Bumrah found a customised pillow, Patel captured the experience, and Ganesan supplied the most quotable response.

The clip may also encourage more attention on the players’ off-field interactions during their Japan visit. For now, though, the story remains a compact piece of team-room humour rather than a development affecting India’s cricket plans. Jasprit Bumrah’s custom pillow became the unexpected star of Japan, but Sanjana Ganesan’s reaction delivered the winning line.
