Kunal Kemmu’s “Vibe” Crashes 55% on First Monday but Struggles to Cross Rs 10 Crore in Its Opening Week

A shaky opening weekend just got worse. “Vibe,” the buddy-adventure film directed by and starring Kunal Kemmu, has hit a steep first-Monday slump, signaling a disappointing run at the Indian box office despite its star-studded cast.

The film collected just Rs 75 lakh on Monday — a massive 55% drop from its opening day — pushing its four-day total to Rs 8.10 crore. Mixed word-of-mouth appears to be the biggest culprit behind the fade, with the movie now projected to struggle past the Rs 10 crore mark by week’s end.

Why “Vibe” Is Struggling?

Despite decent weekend numbers, the film failed to convert curiosity into strong word-of-mouth, leading to the sharp Monday collapse. Its only silver lining: it’s outperforming fellow new release Daayra, though it remains far behind Kunal Kemmu’s previous directorial hit, Madgaon Express.

What’s “Vibe” About?

The film follows best friends Hardik and Bugs, whose ordinary lives spiral into chaos after a disastrous planetarium date pulls them into a secret operation led by the mysterious Madam H — taking them on a Mumbai-to-Bangkok adventure. The ensemble cast includes Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Vanshika Dhir, and Yashpal Sharma.
