Some stories are simply too big for the small screen. Mirzapur: The Movie is proving exactly that, crossing Rs 191 crore nett in India within just 12 days, cementing itself as one of the most successful web-to-film transitions Bollywood has seen in recent years.

On its second Tuesday, the film added roughly Rs 5 crore nett. While the trends looked strong heading into the second Friday, the second weekend growth was a touch softer than expected — a common pattern for big theatrical releases as the initial buzz settles.

What’s Next for Mirzapur’s Box Office Run?

Trade estimates suggest the film’s second week alone will bring in around Rs 55 crore nett, which should push the total past the Rs 200 crore nett milestone by Thursday. From there, the film is expected to comfortably cross Rs 225 crore, with a final closing figure likely landing somewhere between Rs 230-240 crore nett.

What makes this run particularly notable is the source material — Mirzapur began life as a hit web series, and its jump to the big screen has been embraced by audiences at a scale rarely seen for OTT-to-theatrical adaptations. The film’s setting draws heavily on the crime and power dynamics of Uttar Pradesh, the state that lent the fictional Mirzapur its gritty, real-world texture.
