Mandaadi Box Office: Soori’s Sports Drama Sprints to Rs. 24 Crore in Just 3 Days

Soori’s sports action drama just wrapped up a stellar opening weekend, jumping a massive 60% on Day 3 alone. For a mid-scale Tamil release, that’s the kind of growth trade trackers get excited about — proof that word-of-mouth, not just star power, is winning this race.

Mandaadi : Overview

Tamil Nadu is doing the heavy lifting here, contributing Rs. 17 crore of the total — with Rs. 8 crore landing on Saturday alone. The Telugu states chipped in Rs. 4.10 crore, Karnataka added Rs. 2.10 crore, and the rest of India rounded it off with Rs. 80 lakh. According to Pinkvilla’s report, the film has officially entered “Hit” territory.

Why This Trend Is a Big Deal

A film growing on Day 3 instead of dropping is rare — it usually means positive reviews are pulling in new audiences rather than just riding on opening hype. Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, with music by GV Prakash Kumar, Mandaadi is proving that sports dramas with heart can still pack theatres.

Soori, known largely for comic roles, headlines this one alongside Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, and veteran Sathyaraj — a shift that seems to be paying off at the ticket window.

What’s Next for Mandaadi?

With Day 4 expected to hold strong through the extended weekend, trade watchers are eyeing whether Mandaadi can sustain this momentum into weekday collections — traditionally the real test of a film’s staying power.
