Park Ji Hoon in Talks for New Romance Drama “Holding Onto the End of This Night”

Park Ji Hoon may be adding another compelling role to his growing drama résumé. His agency has confirmed he’s currently reviewing an offer for a new romance drama built around an unlikely bond between two people from vastly different worlds.

What YY Entertainment Confirmed

On September 13, Park Ji Hoon’s agency addressed reports linking him to the upcoming drama “Holding Onto the End of This Night” (a literal translation of the working title). The agency clarified that the project is currently among those he’s reviewing, stopping short of confirming his involvement outright but acknowledging real discussions are underway.

What the Drama Is About

“Holding Onto the End of This Night” centers on two characters living completely opposite lives — a drug dealer and a sanitation worker — who find an unexpected connection under the night sky, becoming each other’s source of hope and redemption.

Park Ji Hoon: The Role Being Offered

A Character With a Hidden Passion

If Park Ji Hoon takes on the role, he would play Choi Woo Sung, a sanitation worker who once trained at specialized arts schools with dreams of becoming a professional pianist. Financial pressures eventually forced him to abandon that path in favor of steady work. Despite giving up his dream career, Woo Sung hasn’t let go of his passion entirely — he secretly plays piano during breaks at a now-closed jazz cafe, a private ritual that gets interrupted when a woman unexpectedly discovers him there, setting the story’s central relationship in motion.

Building on Recent Momentum

This potential project comes at a strong point in Park Ji Hoon’s career. He recently starred in the well-received film “The King’s Warden” and most recently appeared in the drama “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,” both of which have kept him firmly in the spotlight. A leading romance role like Choi Woo Sung would mark another notable addition to his range, following characters that have leaned into different genres and emotional tones.

South Korean dramas centered on unlikely emotional connections across social divides have remained a consistently popular storytelling formula, a genre convention with roots explored on Wikipedia’s page on Korean dramas.

Conclusion

While nothing is confirmed yet, the fact that Park Ji Hoon is actively reviewing the role suggests fans could see him take on one of his more emotionally layered characters yet. As talks continue, more details about casting and premiere plans are likely to follow.
