Kim Ji Won is trading rom-com charm for cold, calculated intensity in her next big role. SBS’s upcoming medical noir Doctor X just dropped its main poster, and the actress’s all-black, commanding presence has fans already hyped for one of fall’s most stylish new dramas.

What The Poster Reveals?

Based on the hit Japanese series of the same name, Doctor X follows genius surgeon Gye Soo Jung (Kim Ji Won), who cuts through a corruption-riddled medical establishment using nothing but pure surgical skill. The newly revealed poster shows her dressed head-to-toe in black, standing atop a massive “X” formed from scalpels, forceps, and imagery evoking bones and organs — a striking visual metaphor for her unmatched precision and authority.

Why This Poster Is Making Waves

The production team described the image as capturing Gye Soo Jung’s bold declaration of war against forces of corruption that no one else has dared to challenge, framing her as someone who plays entirely by her own rules. The symbolic use of surgical instruments to form the “X” reinforces the character’s identity — a doctor whose skill alone becomes her weapon against a broken system. For Kim Ji Won, known for her range across romance and drama, this marks a sharp tonal shift into a darker, more commanding character type.
