A Jerry Can, A Lottery Win, And Total Office Chaos — “The Ordinary Jackpot” Premieres Today

What would you actually do the day after winning the lottery? Most of us fantasize about quitting on the spot. Lee Jun Hyuk’s new TVING drama “The Ordinary Jackpot” flips that fantasy on its head — and judging by the newly released stills, chaos is guaranteed.

The show premieres today, September 10, at 6 p.m. KST, and it’s already got fans talking thanks to one seriously unhinged first-episode moment.

The Ordinary Jackpot: The Story So Far

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “The Ordinary Jackpot” follows Gong Eun Tae (Lee Jun Hyuk), a sales team leader stuck in a grinding, repetitive job at Hongseong International. He’s the guy sitting in the farthest, most forgettable seat in the department — until he wins the lottery’s first prize.

Instead of the obvious move (quitting), Eun Tae shows up to work the very next day with a completely transformed mindset. And based on the new stills, that transformation involves walking into the office carrying an oil jerry can, throwing his coworkers into total disarray.

What The Cast Is Teasing

Ahead of the premiere, the leads shared what to watch for. Lee Jun Hyuk pointed to the subtle emotional shifts Eun Tae goes through as the real heart of the show, while Seo Hyun Woo flagged the darkly funny reality that work life doesn’t magically stop just because you’re suddenly rich. Oh Dae Hwan added a more reflective note, encouraging viewers to imagine how they’d react in each character’s shoes.

That workplace-satire angle taps into something universally relatable — office culture and the dynamics of sudden, life-altering change are recurring themes across storytelling worldwide, something you can explore further via Wikipedia’s overview of workplace comedy-drama as a genre.
