We are here, and another laptop from our beloved Lenovo has been refreshed. This time it’s the refreshed ThinkPad P15 Gen 2. We have already seen the ThinkPad P15 series getting refreshed last year in 2020.

Earlier this year, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 and P15s Gen 2 got the treatment with the 11th gen Intel and AMD Ryzen 5000 options. The PC maker finally decided to move the 2020 ThinkPad 15 to the ThinkPad P15 Gen 2.

Lenovo said that the ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 is made with “configurability and versatility in mind“. The ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 will allow its users to configure the device with up to an NVIDIA RTX A5000 along with 11th gen Core and Xeon CPU options. And my favourite part is that users are also getting an option to choose from several Windows 10 and Linux flavours as the OS of choice.

Another feature of the ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 is that the device can be fitted with up to 128 GB DDR4-3200 RAM in both ECC and non-ECC options, as well as with up to 6 TB PCIe M.2 storage in three drives that can be configured in RAID 0 or RAID 1 configurations.

The device also has several display options, including a 4K OLED 400-nit anti-reflective, anti-smudge touch display that supports HDR500 True Black and Dolby Vision HDR. The OEM also offers UHD resolution in an anti-glare IPS panel offering a 600-nit brightness and HDR400 and Dolby Vision support.

Connectivity options include 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB-C, 1x HDMI 2.1/2.0-out, 1x combo audio jack, 1x smart card reader, 1x nano-SIM slot, and 1x Ethernet along with a full-size SD card reader.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 will be available in July starting at US$1,749.
