Educational Institutions and Non-Profit Organizations can now use Business PAN to conveniently register and shop on Amazon Business

Amazon Business paves the way for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) and educational institutes to register as business customers and save purchasing cost

Bengaluru, June 15, 2021: Amazon Business today announced the launch of the Business PAN as an additional license which conveniently enables education institutions and Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) to register and shop on the B2B marketplace. As Amazon Business customers, they will be able to take advantage of business deals and offers, competitive prices offered by thousands of sellers on the marketplace.

Until now, only businesses with GST registration were able to register on Amazon Business. Not all businesses are required to have GST registration and hence many businesses were not able to avail the benefits of shopping on Amazon Business.  Amazon Business now accepts Business PAN for registration of its customers.  Businesses having a valid Business PAN can now avail the benefits of a wide selection of products, competitive pricing and convenience of fast delivery on Amazon Business.

Commenting on the launch, Peter George, Director, Amazon Business said, “With the launch of Business PAN as a license type for registration, we are glad that we can extend the array of benefits offered by Amazon Business such as competitive pricing, access to wide selection of products and bulk discounts to over 80 lakh educational institutes and NGOs and fulfil all their business needs. Education Institutes and NGOs will also have access to enhanced account security, compliance tools and sophisticated analytics which can help them streamline their business purchases and significantly reduce their costs.”

Amazon Business helps educational institutions and NPOs of all sizes eliminate the need to look for multiple vendors to buy products and get the right price. They can now have access to a vast network of sellers for convenient ordering and bulk volume discounts, thus helping them to manage their cash flow and control their expenses.

Some of the prominent educational institutes and NPOs that have been leveraging Amazon Business for their procurement needs include Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bengaluru, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Indian Statistical Institute, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Shiv Nadar University, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust among many others.

Educational institutions can also shop from specially curated stores like the virtual classroom store, Covid-19 supply store, distance learning store amongst others for providing seamless online education to its students. This store includes a variety of educational essentials like tablets, laptops, printers, webcams, headsets, speakers, projectors, networking devices and learning essentials like stationery supplies, whiteboards, markers, writing essentials, and school and college text books.

With over 20 Cr GST enabled products across various categories from over 3.7 lakh sellers, customers can choose from a wide selection of brands such as HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Microsoft, Intel, JBL, Logitech, D-Link, Cello, Luxor, Cross, Kores, Faber-Castell, Godrej, Presto, Bosch, Pidilite, iBell, 3M, Kimberly-Clark, Dabur, Vedaka, ITC, Nescafe, HUL, Tata, ScotchBrite and much more.

Businesses can register using their official email and basic company information. During registration, on the business information page, customers can enter their Business PAN number and date of incorporation of their business. Amazon Business will then verify the Business PAN and create a business account for the customer.
