“The Remarried Empress”: New Stills Reveal a Royal Love Triangle Reimagined

A betrayed empress, a runaway who dreams big, and a prince with secrets — Disney+’s next big fantasy romance just got a whole lot more real.

New stills from the 31st Busan International Film Festival have given fans their first proper look at “The Remarried Empress,” based on the hit web novel of the same name. The drama follows Empress Navier’s fall from grace — and her stunning comeback.

The Remarried Empress: Meet the Cast

The Story So Far

Navier and Sovieshu grew up together, bound by a lifelong friendship that turned into marriage. But that bond shatters when Sovieshu falls for Rashta, a rescued runaway slave, and breaks his vow never to take a concubine — demanding a divorce that devastates Navier.

Rather than crumble, Navier regroups and demands her own remarriage to Heinrey, the mysterious and rumor-surrounded crown prince of a rival kingdom. What starts as a strategic move for Heinrey — approaching Navier with ulterior motives — slowly shifts into real feeling, setting up a slow-burn romance layered with palace politics and hidden agendas.

Meanwhile, Rashta’s arc adds emotional weight to the story: a woman who never imagined a life beyond survival suddenly finds herself thrust into royal life, dreaming of a future she once thought impossible.

With a cast this stacked and a premise built on betrayal, reinvention, and quiet revenge, “The Remarried Empress” is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated K-dramas of the season.
