Silas banned for 3 months post fake identity revelation

VfB Stuttgart forward Silas Katompa Mvumpa prior who identified himself as Silas Wamangituka was caught registering himself in the Bundesliga where he registered under a false name and age. Earlier the forward informed the authorities that he was 21 years old while in light of new evidence it was revealed he is originally 22 years old.

The Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) aka the German Football Association has handed the young Congolese striker a 3-month ban from professional football along with a €30,000 fine.

VfB Stuttgart cooperated with the DFB when documentation revealed the striker’s original name and age to confirm the truth of the matter.

When Silas was asked about the occurrence he stated he was a victim of manipulation due to his former agent who reportedly forced to generate false records from Congo for an easier transition into the DFB.

He stated this always made him live with the fear of getting caught.

Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat stated, “It was clear to him and us that Silas would be sanctioned by the DFB and according to the statutes it has to be like that.”

“The judgment also takes into account the special circumstances of his case. We are happy that the sports court aspect at DFB level is now closed for Silas.”

In his debut season, Silas has scored 11 times and has provided 4 assists yet. It is expected of him to bounce back after serving his suspension and get back into the game with a bang.
