According to a report by Telugu Chitraalu, Ravi Teja and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram director Vivek Athreya are set to collaborate on a project reportedly being planned as a horror movie, though no official announcement has been made yet.

The Meeting That Sparked The Buzz

Interestingly, director Vivek Athreya, along with producers Laxman and Srini, recently visited Ravi Teja to congratulate him on the success of Irumudi— a visit that’s now fueling speculation about their upcoming collaboration.

Ravi Teja’s Packed Pipeline

Alongside this rumored horror project, Ravi Teja is also set to collaborate with director Hasith Goli on an entertainer produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, with the makers reportedly eyeing a Sankranti 2027 release.

Why Vivek Athreya Is A Name To Watch

Vivek Athreya previously directed Nani in the vigilante action drama Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which followed Surya, a man who fights injustice on Saturdays, eventually clashing with a corrupt, ruthless cop named Daya. The film also featured SJ Suryah, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Abhirami Gopikumar, Aditi Balan, and others in key roles. A horror outing would mark a fresh genre shift for the director, known largely for grounded, character-driven dramas.

Riding High On Irumudi’s Success

=Irumudi follows Trinath, a flawed middle-class farmer who undertakes a 41-day spiritual journey at his daughter’s request, only for his transformation to be tested when mysterious incidents involving young girls begin troubling his village. The film stars Ravi Teja alongside Priya Bhavani Shankar and Baby Nakshathra in prominent roles.

Horror as a genre continues to see strong crossover appeal across Indian cinema, often blending supernatural elements with social themes — a trend well documented in the broader horror film landscape.
