The Ordinary Jackpot: Lee Jun Hyuk, Seo Hyun Woo, And Oh Dae Hwan Reveal Why This Office Drama Won Them Over

What would you actually do if you won the lottery — quit, or show up to work with a whole new attitude? The Ordinary Jackpot follows Gong Eun Tae, an ordinary sales employee who wins a 1.3 billion won jackpot, and rather than dramatically transforming overnight, he returns to work the next day with a completely different outlook on life. It’s a premise that’s simple, relatable, and — as its three leads explain — exactly why they signed on.

What’s The Drama About?

Based on the webtoon of the same name, the story centers on three men at Hongseong International whose lives are upended by Gong Eun Tae’s transformation after his win.The newly released poster captures their contrasting mindsets through taglines: Gong Eun Tae’s determined “Shall we turn the company upside down?”, Yang Joon Ho’s weary “Please let me just do my job,” and Jung Sun Hyuk’s ambitious “What’s stopping me?”

The Ordinary Jackpot: Overview

Meet The Three Men At The Center Of It All

Lee Jun Hyuk plays Gong Eun Tae, the head of Sales Team 5, who has grown worn down by work and routine before his lottery win reshapes how he sees his life. He shared that the script reminded him of friends stuck in office jobs, calling it a rare, relatable take on workplace life.

Seo Hyun Woo plays Yang Joon Ho, the perpetually passed-over senior assistant manager who frequently clashes with his younger but higher-ranked colleague Gong Eun Tae. He described the drama as reflecting how one small spark — Gong Eun Tae’s transformation — creates ripple effects across an entire office ecosystem.

Oh Dae Hwan plays Jung Sun Hyuk, a sales team head who has spent over a decade at the company and come to terms with being passed over for promotion, until his colleague’s change spurs him into action too. He found the everyday lottery fantasy grounded in realistic office life especially compelling, along with his character’s gradual unfolding complexity.

Why This Story Resonates

What makes The Ordinary Jackpot stand out isn’t the fantasy of sudden wealth — it’s the very ordinary, human choice to change from within. It’s a workplace drama that trades escapism for reflection, something rare in an industry often chasing bigger spectacle.

Korean office dramas often draw from the broader workplace drama genre, using everyday settings to explore ambition, identity, and personal growth.
