MIVI Is Entering the Smartphone Game — And It’s Teaming Up With Flipkart

Known for earphones and speakers, MIVI is about to make its boldest move yet: a sub-₹15,000 Android phone that promises zero bloatware.

MIVI has spent years building a reputation in audio accessories — earbuds, speakers, soundbars. Now the brand is stepping into genuinely new territory. A “Coming Soon” teaser confirms MIVI is launching its first-ever smartphone, arriving exclusively via Flipkart Unique and powered by a Snapdragon chipset. And based on early Geekbench leaks, we already have a good sense of what’s inside.

What We Know So Far

The Bigger Story: No Bloatware, In-House PCBA

Two details make this launch more interesting than a typical budget phone debut. First, MIVI is positioning this as its first device running clean, close-to-stock Android — a notable promise in a budget segment where pre-installed apps and ads are practically the norm. Second, the phone reportedly uses an in-house designed PCBA (the core circuit board), rather than a licensed reference design — a rare move for a first-time smartphone brand and a sign MIVI wants engineering control from day one, not just a rebadged ODM device.

What the Benchmark Leak Reveals

A Geekbench 6 listing for the “Mivi MVNOE” surfaced with a single-core score of 677 and a multi-core score of 1,490 — modest numbers, in line with what you’d expect from a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip in this price bracket. For reference, Qualcomm’s official Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 product page lists it as an octa-core chip built for affordable 5G — which lines up with the “affordable 5G option” MIVI itself is teasing.

Can MIVI Actually Compete?

Entering the sub-₹15K segment means going head-to-head with established budget 5G players who’ve had years to refine pricing and after-sales networks. A clean software experience and unique hardware design are strong differentiators on paper, but budget buyers in India are famously price- and value-sensitive. If TechnoSports’ recent coverage of Samsung’s A-series price hikes is any indication, this is also a moment when established brands are getting pricier — which could actually work in MIVI’s favour if it holds its promised price point.

Bottom Line

MIVI stepping into smartphones is a genuine surprise, and doing it with an in-house PCBA and stock Android is a bolder pitch than most budget debutants attempt. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 6GB RAM combo won’t win benchmark wars, but if MIVI delivers on its bloatware-free promise at an aggressive price, it could carve out a real niche.
