The big update regarding Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho is that United are directly talking with his agents and with people involved in the deal. Personal terms are being discussed with the player at this point. They reached a total agreement with him last year, and are confident about doing the same this time around as well.
United have not yet made any official bid to Dortmund. They still have an agreement with the player, and that’s all. It’s up to Manchester United, but until Dortmund don’t receive a bid, nothing will happen. Dortmund are open to sell to other clubs too. They have a verbal agreement with Sancho, that he can leave if the right bid arrives early in the season for him. The ‘right amount’ is expected to be about €90-95 million.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will go looking for a new centre-back this summer as well. Sevilla starlet Jules Kounde is one of the candidates on the list. Villareal’s Pau Torres, with a €65 million release clause is also a candidate that Manchester United are looking at. Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane has also made the list, and has long been linked with a switch to Old Trafford. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s return could change things.
The club have not made any bid for Atalanta’s Cristian Romero. The player is appreciated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but no proposal has been made just yet.
