NCT 127’s 10-Year Journey, In Their Own Words: “BLINGY” Press Conference Highlights

Ten years, five current members, and one honest press conference. NCT 127 marked their 10th debut anniversary by unveiling “BLINGY,” their seventh studio album — and used the moment to reflect candidly on everything from lineup changes to the members currently serving in the military.

NCT 127 Album & Comeback Details

The Concept Behind BLINGY

Taeyong described the album as centered on a Seoul map and the group’s signature NEO colors, framing it as a return to their roots. Jaehyun explained the title track flips its own premise — the group set out searching for something “blingy,” only to realize what they were looking for was already within them. Johnny noted the choreography, which Taeyong helped create, is more demanding than any of their past work.

Reflecting On 10 Years Of Change

Taeyong spoke candidly about how different the group’s original five-year vision was from where they’ve ended up, acknowledging a difficult period of adjusting to member changes and the emotional weight that came with it. On Mark‘s departure from NCT, Taeyong expressed respect for the years Mark spent balancing two units and wished him well on his separate path.

Missing Members, Present In Spirit

With Doyoung and Jungwoo currently serving their military enlistment, the group made sure their presence was still felt — both recorded vocals for the track “127 Million Miles” before enlisting, and Taeyong shared that they sent coffee and snack trucks during filming and stayed connected through a group chat, offering feedback throughout production.

Favorite Tracks & Tour Plans

Each member picked a favorite B-side: Haechan chose “Legacy,” Jaehyun picked “Day After Day,” Taeyong went with “Piñata,” Yuta chose the title track itself, and Johnny selected “Getaway.” Looking ahead to their “NEO CITY – THE REDLINE” tour, Johnny referenced the group’s “God of Performance” reputation, while Haechan noted the current five-member configuration makes this album and tour a genuinely limited-edition moment for fans.
