Telugu films almost never grow on their second day. “Irumudi” just did — and then grew again on day three. That unusual pattern turned into a fantastic opening weekend worldwide, delivering Ravi Teja his best-ever box office numbers after a string of underwhelming releases.

Irumudi: Opening Weekend

Day	Gross
Friday	Rs. 17.00 cr
Saturday	Rs. 17.75 cr
Sunday	Rs. 22.00 cr
India Total	Rs. 56.75 cr
Overseas	USD 1.45 million (~Rs. 13.75 cr)
Worldwide	Rs. 70.50 cr

Why The Growth Pattern Is A Big Deal

Telugu films typically taper off on their second day, with growth being a genuine rarity. “Irumudi” not only held steady on Saturday despite Friday being a holiday, but actually grew nearly 25% in the Telugu states on Sunday. That kind of trajectory — a film gaining momentum rather than losing it — is usually a strong early signal of a genuine word-of-mouth hit.

Territorial Breakdowni

Area	Gross
Nizam	Rs. 23.50 cr
Andhra	Rs. 18.25 cr
Ceded	Rs. 7.25 cr
Karnataka	Rs. 5.25 cr
Tamil Nadu – Kerala	Rs. 1.00 cr
Rest of India	Rs. 1.50 cr
North America	USD 1,050,000
Rest of World	USD 400,000

What’s Next For The Film

With the Telugu states alone nearing Rs. 50 crore over the weekend, the film is projected to comfortably cross Rs. 100 crore in the twin states and could aim for a lifetime total around Rs. 150 crore. Trade has already classified it as a Blockbuster — and quite possibly the biggest hit of Ravi Teja’s career, following a stretch of underperforming releases.
