As reported by Romano, the player has signed a three-year deal with the French club. And he will be offered double the salary that Barcelona were offering him. As a free agent, he only had a verbal agreement with the Blaugrana and hadn’t signed anything, since he was keeping his options open. According to Mike Verweij, the Dutch international is set to earn more than €10m per year with his new club.

PSG came in with their bid only in the last few days, and the player chose to go to France instead. He is currently with the Dutch national team and is preparing for the Euros. The medicals will reportedly take place in the national team camp.

The player refused to accept a new deal with Liverpool throughout the 20/21 season. Although the club tried to keep him numerous times, they could not match his salary demands. He was one of the first options for Jurgen Klopp in midfield, providing an immense work rate. As part of the Merseyside club, he won the Champions League, Premier League, Club World Cup and Super Cup.

Barcelona had been pursuing him since the summer of 2020, but the player has now made his final decision and has chosen the Parc de Princes over Camp Nou.
