Charles Nieuwendyk Returns: A Man on the Inside Season 3 Won’t Land Until 2027

Fans hoping for another undercover caper from Charles this year will have to sit tight — the wait for Season 3 just got a lot clearer, and it’s longer than the show’s usual rhythm.

A Man on the Inside: Production Timeline Confirmed

New production documents reveal filming for Season 3 begins September 21, 2026, wrapping quickly by November 3, 2026. Shooting continues in the show’s home turf of San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Why the Wait Is Longer This Time

The show has followed a neat annual November cadence for its first two seasons. Season 3 breaks that pattern entirely. With a wrap date in early November 2026, post-production — typically four to six months for a half-hour Mike Schur comedy — will stretch through winter, pushing the likely premiere into Q2 2027, most probably April or May.

The delay follows a rocky patch for the show: viewership for Season 2 reportedly dropped off sharply after release, which had fans wondering if Netflix would even bring Charles back for another round of undercover investigations.

Ted Danson leads the cast as Charles, joined by Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Lilah Richcreek Estrada.
