FC Bayern München vs RB Leipzig Match Preview, Prediction, Timings, Lineups, Teams, and How to Watch

The Allianz Arena hosts Bundesliga football’s biggest pre-season showdown as FC Bayern München face RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup 2026 final on Saturday, August 15. It’s the perfect dress rehearsal before the real season begins — two heavyweight rivals, one trophy, and barely any room for experimentation.

Both coaches are expected to field close to full-strength XIs for the full 90 minutes, treating this as an unofficial curtain-raiser rather than a typical friendly. The match arrives right after Bayern’s return from their Audi Summer Tour of South Korea and Hong Kong, while it will be Leipzig’s final warm-up before their own season-opening celebrations the following day. Prediction

With home advantage, a settled squad, and recent H2H dominance on their side, Bayern go in as favourites. Still, Leipzig have the quality to make this close — expect a tight, high-intensity contest that could well go to penalties.
