Chelsea have gone ahead and announced a hat-trick of contract extensions in one evening, with Thomas Tuchel, Thiago Silva and Olivier Giroud all extending their stay at Stamford Bridge.

The German coach was heavily rumoured to be in talks for a new deal following the Blues’ Champions League victory, and he has now extended his stay at Chelsea until 2024. The upcoming campaign will be his first full one in charge, and Chelsea are expected to be genuine title contenders once again.

Also formerly of PSG, Thiago Silva has now officially extended his contract with Chelsea for another season, until 2022. The Brazilian aims on going to the World Cup as a player in Europe, and having finally won the European Cup, Chelsea is home to him for one more season.

Moving on to another veteran, we come to Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman was strongly linked with a switch to AC Milan this summer, with the Rossoneri offering him a two year deal. However, as revealed by the club, his contract was extended for another year all the way in April, which nullifies all rumours of moving to the San Siro.

However, the same cannot be said for Fikayo Tomori. The Chelsea academy graduate spent the latter half of the season out on loan at AC Milan, and the Italian club have told Chelsea that they are going to trigger the buy option in his contract to permanently sign him for €28.5 million. Tomori is set to sign a contract until 2026 with the club.
