Why This Match Matters
This friendly caps off a busy week for Napoli, who face Osasuna just three days earlier as part of their centenary pre-season schedule. Allegri, who replaced Antonio Conte after a Scudetto-and-Supercoppa campaign, is using every available minute to shape his tactical approach and settle on a starting framework before the competitive season kicks in against Genoa. With plenty of established faces plus fringe players fighting for minutes, expect a heavily rotated Napoli side.
Celta Vigo arrive off the back of a training camp in Sassuolo, where they also faced the Neroverdi earlier in the week. Under Claudio Giráldez, the Galicians are shaping their squad for a demanding 2026-27 campaign that includes another UEFA Europa League run, so this match doubles as a valuable litmus test against a European-caliber opponent before their own league opener against Osasuna.
Prediction
Expect goals at both ends in what should be an open, high-tempo friendly. Napoli’s superior squad depth should give them the edge, but Celta’s European experience means this won’t be a straightforward workout for Allegri’s men.
