Money or loyalty? JTBC’s crime drama The Apartment Job is about to test its lead character in the most gut-wrenching way possible, and the newly released stills show exactly how far things have escalated.

The Story So Far
The Apartment Job follows Park Hae Kang, a former gang boss played by Ji Sung, who runs for president of his apartment complex’s resident council with one goal: getting his hands on the complex’s hidden reserve fund. Along the way, he unexpectedly joins forces with fellow residents to expose deep-rooted corruption within the building.
In the previous episode, Park Hae Kang was transporting a bag containing 10 billion won (roughly $6.9 million) on the orders of Lee Choong Won (Park Byung Eun) when he received shocking news: Park Yong Man (Jung Jin Young) had been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. The episode ended on a dramatic note, with Park Hae Kang abruptly turning his car around and changing course.
What’s Coming Next
New stills reveal Park Hae Kang rushing to Park Yong Man’s hospital room, where he urgently pours out his feelings. Holding his unconscious hand, he desperately pleads for him to hold on just a little longer. The moment sets up a bigger question — what will Park Hae Kang ultimately decide to do with the 10 billion won bag, which has effectively been handed to him as a test of loyalty and character.
This kind of moral dilemma — choosing between personal gain and human connection — is a recurring hallmark of the crime film genre, where high-stakes money often becomes secondary to deeper emotional reckonings.
Where to Watch
The next episode of The Apartment Job airs on August 2 at 10:30 PM KST on JTBC. In the meantime, fans can catch Ji Sung in The Judge Returns and Jung Jin Young in LTNS, both streaming on Viki.
