Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Is Out — Everything You Need to Know

The web-slinger is officially back, and the internet is losing its mind. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day became the most-viewed trailer in 24 hours ever this past March. Now, a brand new trailer has dropped, and it’s even bigger. From jaw-dropping action to emotional gut-punches, Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious superhero films ever made. Here is everything you need to know — from the trailer highlights to the all-important OTT release date.

What Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day About?

Brand New Day picks up four years after the memory spell at the end of No Way Home. The world has forgotten Peter Parker exists. He is broke, living alone in a small apartment, listening to a police scanner, and fighting street-level crime full time as an anonymous Spider-Man.

Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him — and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see.

MJ has a new love interest, played by Eman Esfandi, which creates a painful conflict for a Peter she does not remember. Ned, meanwhile, has built a Spider-Tracker app to find Spider-Man and thank him, without knowing the hero he is hunting is his forgotten best friend.

What’s in the New Trailer?

The latest trailer is a spectacular showcase of what’s to come. The hooks include Spider-Man spinning out of control, Peter Parker asking Bruce Banner how to suppress his mutations, the Incredible Hulk hulking out incredibly, and, most horrifically, New York City skyscrapers crumbling outward.

Peter’s powers undergo a dangerous physical evolution in Brand New Day. The trailer confirms two major changes: organic web shooters and black eyes. Commentators have linked this mutation to the Six Arms Saga and The Other, two comic storylines in which Peter’s spider abilities evolve beyond his control.

The film’s trailer also confirmed the appearance of the organization the Hand, which had previously been featured in Marvel Television’s Netflix series, and features Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk as Tom Holland’s Peter Parker faces iconic villains and personal heartbreak.

Full Cast

Jon Bernthal reprises his beloved role as the Punisher, and the dynamic between Parker and Castle — part friction, part unlikely brotherhood — is already being called one of the film’s highlights.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day — OTT Release Date

No official OTT date has been confirmed yet. However, PVOD digital rental is expected in late September–October 2026, followed by Netflix streaming in early 2027. Netflix holds the Pay 1 window globally, followed by Disney+.

Sony has adjusted its theatrical windows in recent years. Smaller releases arrive on PVOD as early as 45 days after their theatrical debut, while major blockbusters typically remain exclusive to theatres for around 60 to 75 days before being released digitally.

Behind the Camera

Writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers return from all three prior MCU Spider-Man films. Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O’Connor produce, with Louis D’Esposito and David Cain as executive producers. Michael Giacchino returns to score the film, and Brett Pawlak handles cinematography.

Cretton announced on December 19, 2025, that filming had wrapped, and said directing the film was “one of the roles of a lifetime” for him. Holland said the film was “the most creatively fulfilling filming experience” he had ever had.

The Comic Book Connection

The subtitle “Brand New Day” was taken from the comic book story of the same name, published in The Amazing Spider-Man #546 (March 2008), written by Dan Slott and drawn by Steven McNiven. The storyline similarly dealt with Peter Parker starting his life over from scratch — making it a deeply fitting title for this chapter of the MCU.

Theatrical Formats

The film will be released in ScreenX, being the first film specifically shot for that format under the “Shot for ScreenX” program, as well as RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, D-Box, and 4DX. It is also expected to be released in IMAX in select international markets.
