Three weeks in, and Cocktail 2 is finally running out of steam. The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer added just Rs. 4.50 crore in its third week, a steep 70% drop from Week 2, taking its total to Rs. 84.25 crore nett in India.

A Slow Fade at the Box Office

Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is now losing screens fast, mostly to new releases crowding cinemas this week. Trade trackers expect Cocktail 2 to close its theatrical run at around Rs. 85-86 crore nett, a modest finish considering the starry lineup.

Cocktail 2: Week-by-Week Breakdown

Week	Collection
Week 1	Rs. 63.50 crore
Week 2	Rs. 16.25 crore
Week 3	Rs. 4.50 crore
Total	Rs. 84.25 crore

The Bigger Picture

While the opening numbers looked promising on paper, industry watchers note they were boosted by external factors rather than pure audience pull. When compared to other recent rom-coms, Cocktail 2’s real performance lands closer to underwhelming releases like Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The consistent trade verdict across these films: flop.

The film marks a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, and is directed by Homi Adajania, co-written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain. Despite the starry trio and lush Sicily visuals, it hasn’t managed to convert buzz into sustained box office momentum.
