“Kin and Sin”: Three Families, One Island, Zero Mercy

Jeju Island has always been Korea’s tourist postcard — beaches, tangerines, volcanic scenery. Kin and Sin flips that image entirely, turning the island into a battleground for three rival families clawing to protect their legacy. Filming wrapped in June 2026, and a March 2027 Netflix release now looks likely.

Kin and Sin: Key Details

Three Families, Three Empires

The story centers on the Bu, Yang, and Ko families, each fighting to keep their lineage and legacy protected on Jeju Island. The Bus control pig farming and horse racing, the Yangs have built power through Jeju City real estate, while the once-dominant Ko family has watched its casino-era influence fade in Seogwipo. What follows is a turf war over control of the entire island.

Who’s Leading the Cast

Six veteran actors anchor the series. Han Seok Kyu (Dr. Romantic) plays Bu Yong Nam, marking his first Netflix project. Yoon Kye Sang (The Winning Try, The Frog) plays his son, Bu Geon. Choo Ja Hyun (Narco-Saints, Little Women) plays Bu Yoon Seon, while Yoo Jae Myung (Vincenzo, Song of the Bandits) takes on rival patriarch Yang Gwang Ik. Kim Jong Soo (Kingdom, Moving) plays Ko Dae Su, and veteran actress Go Doo Shim rounds out the cast as the family matriarch, Great Granny.

When Will It Actually Drop?

Netflix hasn’t confirmed anything officially, but a reliable industry source has pointed to a March 2027 window, based on tracking that’s historically proven accurate for K-drama release timing. As always with unconfirmed reports, treat the date as likely rather than locked in.

Jeju Island’s unique cultural identity — long shaped by its geography and history — has made it a popular backdrop for Korean storytelling, as detailed on Wikipedia’s Jeju Island entry.
