“100 Days of Deception” Teaser Drops a Spy Thriller Set in 1932 Gyeongseong — And It’s Gripping

Some dramas announce themselves quietly. “100 Days of Deception” isn’t one of them. tvN’s upcoming weekend spy romance has just dropped its first teaser, and it’s already promising the kind of tense, period-set intrigue fans of director Yoo In Shik know how to deliver.

A Pickpocket, an Interpreter, and a Very Dangerous Disguise

Set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, the drama follows Lee Ga Gyeong — Gyeongseong’s most skilled pickpocket — as she infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea disguised as an interpreter trainee. Her path collides with Kim Tae Woong (also known as Sato Hideo), the newly appointed interpreter and adopted son of the Inspector-General, second-in-command of the entire Government-General. It’s the kind of setup where every conversation could unravel everything.

Kim You Jung takes on Lee Ga Gyeong, while Park Jinyoung plays Kim Tae Woong, marking a high-stakes reunion of talent under a director best known for blending emotional depth with sharp tension.

The Supporting Cast Raises the Stakes

The teaser doesn’t just tease a central romance — it hints at a web of hidden agendas. Kim Hyun Joo plays Yoo So Ran, a sniper for the anti-Japanese resistance group Gugukdan, while Lee Moo Saeng portrays Yoo Philip, an American news agency correspondent working the Gyeongseong beat. Jin Sun Kyu rounds things out as Sato Shinichi, the second-highest official in the Japanese Government-General.

100 Days of Deception: Overview

Why the Teaser Timing Matters

Released exactly 100 days before premiere, the teaser leans into vivid recreations of Gyeongseong Station and the Government-General building, where Korean civilians and Japanese police intermingle under constant tension. Between So Ran’s rifle aimed at an unseen target and Sato Shinichi’s quiet scheming, it’s clear this drama is building toward something far bigger than a simple undercover romance.
