Kim Hye Soo’s Perfect Instagram Life Is About To Fall Apart On Screen

Influencer culture has always hidden more than it shows. Kim Hye Soo’s upcoming drama is about to turn that gap between image and reality into a full-blown black comedy — and the new poster already hints at just how messy things get.

What’s Kim Hye Soo Show About?

The Affair Is Not the Problem Right Now (literal translation) follows a popular influencer couple who’ve built their entire public image around a perfect, happy family life. Living next door is a doctor couple locked in a bitter divorce battle. When both households get pulled into an overwhelming shared secret, things spiral fast — one big enough to make an ordinary affair feel almost trivial by comparison.

Reading Between The Poster’s Lines

The newly unveiled poster is doing a lot of quiet storytelling. Kyung Hee stands in a peaceful upscale neighborhood, dressed brightly and holding a selfie stick, wearing a relaxed smile as though completely unaware of the chaos about to hit her. Behind her, through the mansion windows, smaller details tell a very different story — a silhouetted couple embracing, a man pressing his ear to a wall near a shattered family portrait, and two young girls standing hand in hand. Together, they hint at the anxiety and secrets simmering beneath her curated, camera-ready life.

That contrast between glossy surface and hidden dysfunction is a hallmark of the black comedy genre, which has long used dark humor to expose uncomfortable truths about family, morality, and appearances — exactly the territory this drama seems ready to explore.

While fans count down to the July 31 premiere, Kim Hye Soo can currently be watched in the film Default.
