Paramount’s ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow,’ Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Set for 2027

Paramount Pictures has locked in a November 12, 2027 wide theatrical release for its adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin’s bestselling novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. Daisy Edgar-Jones leads the cast as Sadie Green, with Oscar-winning CODA director Siân Heder writing, directing, and producing. The announcement places one of the most anticipated literary adaptations of recent years firmly in the awards-season window.

The Film at a Glance

The Story

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is a modern love story built around creativity, friendship, and the complicated space between the two. The story follows Sadie Green and Sam Masur, two friends whose lives first intersect in childhood. They reconnect as adults and go on to build a video game studio called Unfair Games, alongside Sam’s college roommate and close friend Marx Watanabe. The narrative traces their partnership across several decades, set against the visual ambition and rapid expansion of the video game industry through the 1990s and into the 2000s.

The official logline describes the film as “a modern love story about two friends who meet as children and reunite as adults to create video games, finding an intimacy in digital storytelling that eludes them in their real lives. The relationship explores the passion and heartbreak of creative collaboration, set against the visually groundbreaking worlds brought to life by the rising video game industry of the 1990s–2000s.”

The novel is not a conventional romance. It is about what it means to make something together — and what happens to a relationship when creative ambition and personal feeling cannot be separated from each other.

The Book Behind the Film

Zevin’s novel was published in 2022 and became a genuine cultural phenomenon. It has sold over four million copies worldwide, with more than two million in North America and over one million in the UK alone, across 40 foreign-language territories. It spent more than a year on the New York Times bestseller list and has since been named among the finest works of fiction in recent decades.

Daisy Edgar-Jones as Sadie Green

Edgar-Jones plays Sadie Green, the gifted video game designer at the centre of the story. Her casting was announced in March 2026, and it arrives at a point in her career defined by sustained commercial and critical momentum. She broke through with the acclaimed television adaptation of Normal People and followed it with a celebrated turn in Under the Banner of Heaven. On the film side, she has starred in box office hits including Twisters and Where the Crawdads Sing.

Casting for the roles of Sam Masur and Marx Watanabe has not yet been announced.

Siân Heder at the Helm

Heder brings significant credentials to the project. Her feature CODA won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 2022 Oscars, establishing her as a filmmaker with a precise command of emotionally complex ensemble storytelling. Her screenplay for Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is built from earlier drafts by screenwriter Mark Bomback and Zevin herself, who also joins the production as executive producer.

The combination of Heder’s direction and Zevin’s continued creative involvement gives the project an unusually direct line from source material to screen. Heder is producing alongside Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner — a production banner with a consistent track record in literary adaptation.

The November 2027 Window

Paramount’s decision to date the film for November 12, 2027 places it squarely in the awards season corridor reserved for the studio’s most prestigious releases. For a story that blends emotional depth with a specific cultural milieu — the emergence of video games as a dominant creative medium — the positioning makes clear sense. The film is aiming at an audience that connects with both the intimate character dynamics of the novel and the larger cultural canvas it is painted against.
