Not Suitable for Work Season 1 Episodes 6 & 7 Release Date, Time & What to Expect — Murray Hill’s Messiest Chapter Yet Is Almost Here

Mindy Kaling’s Hulu comedy hit has climbed to No. 1 on US streaming, and with the season finale just two weeks away, Episodes 6 and 7 are set to crank up the chaos on every single storyline at once.

Not Suitable for Work: Overview

Full Season 1 Episode Schedule

Where Did Episode 5 Leave Things?

Episode 5 ended with Bill showing up outside AJ’s apartment and kissing her for the second time — making clear the first kiss was no office accident. Meanwhile Abby is losing the battle to keep things professional with Austin, Kel desperately needs to land an acting role before his parents cut him off entirely, and Davis is slowly realising his feelings for AJ run deeper than he’s admitted.

It can be predicted that the next couple of episodes will only bring even more mess into the lives of Murray Hill residents — and with a finale just one week after Episodes 6 and 7, the show has very little time left to let anything simmer. PRIMETIMER

What to Expect in Episodes 6 & 7?

Episode 6 — “Handsome Mug Guy” — The title alone suggests someone’s internet presence is about to cause real-world problems. Given that Episode 4 already featured Kel’s unauthorized billboard and Episode 5 had the Fisher Trashen Instagram scandal, the show clearly loves using digital exposure as a plot engine. Expect the Bill-AJ tension to become increasingly impossible to contain professionally.

Episode 7 — “Does Jon Hamm Cry?” — This is the kind of episode title that makes you immediately curious. With Austin circling closer to Abby, a Jon Hamm reference could signal a celebrity-adjacent subplot — or just capture the emotional register of someone in Murray Hill finally breaking down. Either way, it sounds like feelings are coming to a head.

With episode 6 set to turn up the heat on every storyline that has been quietly simmering, now is exactly the right moment to ask: which character is the viral moment going to hit hardest, and is AJ finally going to make a move she can’t take back? Comic Basics

Mindy Kaling has described the show as the third in a trilogy about her own life — following Never Have I Ever and The Sex Lives of College Girls — representing “the last pivotal time in my youth, which was moving to New York City, being super ambitious.”
