Pranit More Deletes Instagram After Rs 370 Biryani Controversy Goes Viral — Here’s the Full Story

A plate of biryani. A comedian’s laugh. And the internet’s fury. The Pranit More controversy is one of those rare social media storms that started with a dinner date and ended with a deleted Instagram account.

What Exactly Happened with Pranit More?

During a live crowdwork set, a 23-year-old Gurugram-based web developer named Himanshu Jangra shared how he spent Rs 370 on chicken biryani for a woman — and then pressured her into going to a park at night. Instead of challenging the deeply problematic narrative, Pranit laughed along. The clip went viral within hours.

Why Did Pranit Delete His Instagram?

The backlash was swift and intense. Influencers, netizens, and public figures called out Pranit for normalising toxic masculinity — a pattern of harmful behaviour where dominance and entitlement are presented as acceptable. Jangra, the audience member, was also reportedly removed from his workplace following the uproar.

Pranit issued a public apology, accepting he should have confronted the remark instead of engaging with it. But the trolling didn’t stop. Eventually, his main Instagram account was deactivated, though his secondary handle @maharashtrianbhau remains active.

Why This Controversy Resonated So Deeply

This wasn’t just about biryani. It struck a nerve because it exposed how easily harmful attitudes get normalised under the guise of humour — especially on public platforms with large, impressionable audiences.
