Potterheads, the wait is almost over. HBO dropped a fresh combined teaser on May 24, 2026, and tucked inside it was a brief but breathtaking glimpse of its upcoming Harry Potter series — and the Quidditch pitch alone has fans losing their minds.

What Did the New HBO Teaser Show?

The footage showed Hogwarts draped in winter fog, students gathered near the castle grounds, and a Quidditch pitch that looked far grander than anything seen in the original film franchise. It’s a short glimpse, but enough to make the scale of this production crystal clear.

The 2026 preview clip didn’t unveil brand-new scenes — several clips were pulled from the first teaser released in March — but it did treat fans to fresh context, including Harry heading toward the Quidditch stadium and his interaction with wandmaker Mr. Ollivander, played by Anton Lesser.

What Makes This Teaser Special?

The earlier March teaser included scenes from Philosopher’s Stone that were never shown in the original films — Harry at Muggle school, Petunia cutting Harry’s hair, a snowball fight at Hogwarts, and the Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor Quidditch match. This new footage reinforces that HBO is serious about going deeper into the books, not just retracing the films. \

The teaser also gave fans their first look at the redesigned Quidditch uniforms — cloaks embroidered with players’ names and numbers — and brooms with fanned-out bristles that carry a distinct ramshackle charm. Wizarding World

The new teaser was bundled alongside sneak peeks at House of the Dragon Season 3, The Gilded Age Season 4, and the DC superhero spin-off Lanterns — but let’s be honest, Harry Potter stole the spotlight. Sportskeeda

The Cast and the Controversy

HBO’s apparent goal with its seven-season roadmap is to include material, characters, and storylines from the original books that were cut during the development of the 8-part film franchise. That ambition has generated real excitement — as well as some debate. The casting of Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape faced backlash, and the actor endured online abuse as a result. Collider Collider
