The Boroughs Cast: Every Actor in Netflix’s Star-Studded Sci-Fi Series and the Legendary Roles They’re Known For

If you’re watching The Boroughs on Netflix and wondering where you know every face from, you’re not alone. The show’s greatest flex is its cast — a group of veterans with arguably 350 combined years of craft who are finally getting the leading roles they deserve. All 8 episodes dropped on May 21, 2026, and the ensemble alone is worth the watch.

The Boroughs — Series Overview

Full Cast — Characters and Who Plays Them

Alfred Molina as Sam Cooper The emotional anchor of the show. Sam is a grieving, recently widowed retired aeronautical engineer who moves to The Boroughs and immediately encounters something inexplicable — a monstrous presence no one else seems willing to acknowledge. Molina is beloved globally as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and for acclaimed roles in Frida and Three Pines.

Geena Davis as Renee Joyce The charismatic art teacher of the community and one of the first to join Sam’s cause. Davis — the Oscar-winning star of Thelma & Louise and A League of Their Own — has publicly said the role felt tailor-made for her. She’s the heart and spark of the group.

Alfre Woodard as Judy Daniels A serious-minded former journalist who brings emotional depth and family complexity to the story. Woodard, known for Clemency and Desperate Housewives, grounds the supernatural chaos in genuine human stakes.

Clarke Peters as Art Daniels Judy’s New Age, free-spirited husband whose spiritual arc adds unexpected warmth and humour. Clarke Peters is best known as Lester Freamon in The Wire — one of TV’s all-time great performances.

Denis O’Hare as Wally Baker The sardonic wit of the ensemble, widely noted as a standout even among this stacked group. O’Hare’s extensive portfolio includes American Horror Story and Dallas Buyers Club.

Bill Pullman as Jack Willard Pullman — famous for Independence Day and The Sinner — plays Jack, whose shocking death in Episode 1 fundamentally reshapes the group’s investigation and raises the stakes immediately.

Jena Malone as Claire Cooper Sam’s daughter, whose presence adds a generational tension and emotional layer to his story.

Seth Numrich as Blaine Shaw The eerily calm, strangely ageless CEO of the community — one of the show’s most unsettling presences.

Carlos Miranda as Paz Navarro A key supporting figure rounding out the community’s core social fabric.

Alice Kremelberg as Anneliese Shaw Part of the younger contingent woven into the retirement community’s dark secret.

Eric Edelstein as Hank Williams Brings comic relief and warmth to the ensemble.

Rafael Casal as Neil Otero One of several key additions announced ahead of the premiere, adding further texture to the world of The Boroughs.

Why This Cast Is a Big Deal

The Duffer Brothers built Stranger Things around young unknowns. With The Boroughs, they flipped the script entirely — putting Hollywood veterans front and centre in roles that don’t sideline their age but make it the point. As creators Addiss and Matthews put it: “The fact that they are older is not a joke. It is part of why they are our heroes.”
