As per some recent reports, Honor is going to launch its Honor Play 5 smartphone very soon in its home country. However, the launch date has not been confirmed yet, but some tipsters have already shared the entire specifications list of the device. So, let’s get into that in brief.

As per the tipsters, the upcoming Honor Play 5 will run on Android 11 OS and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset. Regarding the display, this phone is said to have a 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED waterdrop notch panel (No confirmation about any kind of higher refresh rates). As of now, it is not confirmed whether this phone will feature a side-mounted or an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The tipsters have not revealed anything regarding the RAM/storage options of the device. Coming to the camera section, this phone is likely to have a rectangular quad rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary lens (probably an ultra-wide), and a pair of 2MP sensors (probably macro and depth). No information regarding the selfie shooter.
The upcoming Honor Play 5 is said to get fueled up by a 3,800mAH battery supported by 66W of rapid charging. In terms of ports and buttons, the power button and volume rockers are on the right edge whereas the SIM card slot will be on the left edge, and on the top edge, there is a microphone. As per connectivity, this phone has support for everything including 5G. Other than these, the Honor Play 5 is going to be a slimmer phone with lesser weight, measures 7.46mm in thickness, and weighs 179 grams.

The company has kept the pricing of the device under wraps, expected to be slightly higher than 1,299 Yuan (~$200), and somewhere in early May, we can expect this device to reach the Chinese market.
