After a rough few years at the box office, Bollywood’s most reliable entertainer is having the last laugh. Bhooth Bangla is not just a hit — it’s a statement.

Third Weekend & Still Haunting the Box Office

Bhooth Bangla delivered a remarkably strong third weekend, collecting approximately Rs. 14.50 crore nett across its 3rd Friday to Sunday, bringing the total domestic nett to around Rs. 136.50 crore. What makes this especially impressive is the sub-50% weekend drop — even with stiff regional competition from Raja Shivaji pulling audiences in Maharashtra and surrounding states, the horror-comedy held its ground with confidence.

On the overseas front, the film has raked in around USD 5.50 million (approximately Rs. 52 crore), pushing its worldwide gross to an estimated Rs. 216 crore. The Rs. 150 crore nett domestic milestone is now virtually guaranteed, with a realistic shot at Rs. 160 crore if the film survives the fourth week.

Bhooth Bangla Week-by-Week Box Office Breakdown

Period	India Nett Collection
Week 1	Rs. 80.50 crore
Week 2	Rs. 41.50 crore
3rd Friday	Rs. 4.50 crore
3rd Saturday	Rs. 4.50 crore
3rd Sunday	Rs. 5.50 crore
Total (3 Weeks)	Rs. 136.50 crore
Worldwide Gross	~Rs. 216 crore

Why This Hit Matters More Than Most?

Bhooth Bangla is now officially Bollywood’s third HIT of 2026 — after Border 2 and Dhurandhar 2 — and ranks as the second most profitable film of the year so far, even ahead of Border 2 in terms of returns on investment due to its leaner budget.

More importantly, this is a deeply personal box office comeback for Akshay Kumar. The post-pandemic years were unkind to him — a long string of films that disappointed. 2025 showed signs of recovery, but a clean HIT remained elusive. Bhooth Bangla changes that narrative entirely.

As box office analysts note, a consistent performer delivering multiple commercially viable films annually is the lifeblood of any film industry — and that’s precisely what Akshay Kumar brings to Bollywood. Unlike most leading stars who space films years apart, he keeps the pipeline flowing, the theatres running, and the industry’s wheels turning.
