Spain’s Next Netflix Tearjerker Is Here — The Map of Longing Is the Romantic Drama You Didn’t Know You Needed This July

If A Perfect Story wrecked you in the best possible way, Netflix Spain is about to do it all over again. And from the looks of it, this one is going to hit differently. whats-on-netflix

The Map of Longing — Everything at a Glance

What’s the Story?

The series tells the moving story of Greta, who claims to have been born with the sole purpose of saving her sister Lucy, who suffers from leukemia, through her stem cells. However, events take an unexpected turn and Lucy passes away, leaving Greta with a profound existential void. Before departing, Lucy creates ‘The Map of Longings’, a game that challenges Greta to face her pain and discover her own path. On this journey, Greta will meet Will, an enigmatic young man with a dark past that torments him.

It’s grief, healing, a posthumous scavenger hunt, and a slow-burn romance all wrapped into one emotionally loaded package. Think All the Bright Places meets classic Spanish romance drama — warm, devastating, and deeply human.

Who’s in the Cast?

Alícia Falcó (Eighteen, Billionaire’s Bunker) leads the cast as Greta, while Pablo Álvarez (Memento Mori) stars opposite her as the enigmatic Will. Georgina Amorós — best known for her long-running role as Cayetana in Elite — will play Lucy. whats-on-netflix

The supporting cast is equally impressive, featuring Mario de la Rosa, best known to Netflix fans as Suárez in the massive hit Money Heist, alongside Laia Marull and Ramón Barea. whats-on-netflix
