Chitrangada Singh Just Busted the Biggest Myth About Salman Khan on Set — And It’s Refreshing

We’ve all heard the whispers. Salman Khan is late. Salman Khan is difficult. Salman Khan is unprofessional. But what happens when the co-star who actually worked with him steps up and says — that’s simply not true?

That’s exactly what Chitrangada Singh did, and the internet is paying attention.

What Chitrangada Singh Actually Said?

Speaking at the Yuva event with NDTV, Chitrangada didn’t hold back. She revealed that before filming Maatrubhumi, people actively warned her that Salman wouldn’t show up on time and had a reputation for being difficult on set. She called all of it out as completely false — noting that he was not only punctual but that he even arrived early on days when she herself had an early call time.

Beyond punctuality, what struck her most was how he treated the crew. She described how he would personally check on the least visible people on set — the lightman, the fourth assistant director — asking if they’d had their meals and if they were being looked after well. For someone with Salman’s stature in Bollywood, that kind of ground-level humility left a real impression on her.

What Is Maatrubhumi About?

Maatrubhumi is a patriotic war drama rooted in the real events of the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia — known for hard-hitting narratives — the film sees Salman Khan take on the role of an Army Colonel, stepping far outside his usual mass entertainer zone. Chitrangada plays his wife, and this marks the first on-screen pairing of the two stars.

For fans of high-stakes Indian cinema, this could be one of 2026’s most significant releases. Stay updated on the latest Bollywood news at technosports.co.in.

The film began with a muhurat shot in Mumbai and is targeting an Eid 2027 release. Nayanthara is reportedly set to star opposite Salman, making it her first collaboration with the Bollywood superstar — and fans are already buzzing.
