The Highlights, Explained

1. The Karisma “affair” joke. When Karan Johar said Karisma calls their bond platonic, Salman Khan laughed it off and teased that she was fibbing, calling it his longest-living affair. He added, jokingly, that he was heartbroken when she married someone else. Karisma, wide-eyed, warned that he was giving the audience plenty of content.

2. Marriage and fatherhood. Salman said no one stopped him from marrying; he made that choice himself and is at peace with it. But he does want children at some point, calling that the most amazing thing.

3. No biopic, ever. He declared that a film on his life will never be made, because his story will go with him.

4. The best and worst of being Salman. His answer was a witty loop: both the best and worst thing about being Salman is Salman himself. He wrapped it up with a famous Sholay-style line about only Gabbar being able to defeat Gabbar.

5. Ranbir vs Ranveer. He refused to rank Animal against Dhurandhar, saying they are two different kinds of performances by two fantastic actors. He also praised Ranveer for holding back his usual high energy with confidence. We covered this in detail in our Koffee With Karan 9 Ranveer and Ranbir story.

6. The bedroom and the living room. Salman explained that he picked up from his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, the habit of not discussing his personal life in public. He compared it to the difference between a bedroom and a living room: what belongs in one shouldn’t spill into the other.

7. Cringing at the past. Looking back at some things he said on earlier KWK episodes, Salman admitted even he winces. But his philosophy is simple: that was then, so move on, don’t carry the past, and live in the present.

Why This Episode Works?

The charm lies in the mix. There’s the playful teasing with Karisma, the surprising openness about wanting kids, and the sharp one-liners Salman is known for. It’s also a reminder that even the biggest stars have clear lines they won’t cross in public.
