Top 5 footballers whose market value has dipped the most in 2021

A player’s market value depends on his age, skills and most importantly, on their recent forms. It changes every transfer window according to the performance in the previous season.

5. Antoine Griezmann

Club: FC Barcelona

Current Value: €60 million

Previous Value: €80 million [ €20 million dip]

Antoine Griezmann joined FC Barcelona in 2019 from Atletico Madrid for €120 million. The French forward was often considered in the same bracket with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his time at Atletico Madrid.

But since his move to the Catalan side, he failed to deliver the same for the Cules. His transfer value dips down to €60 million which is €20 million lesser than the previous year.

4. Philippe Coutinho

Club: FC Barcelona

Current Value: €40 million

Previous Value: €60 million [ €20 million dip]

The story is much worse for the Brazilian. Philippe Coutinho is one of the biggest transfer flops in recent times. Coutinho joined FC Barcelona in 2018 for €150 million.

But he failed to deliver up to the mark. His current value dips down to €40 million which €20 million less than the last year.

3. Eden Hazard

Club: Real Madrid

Current Value: €40 million

Previous Value: €60 million [ €20 million dip]

It’s hard to imagine, Eden Hazard’s dream move to Real Madrid will turn on into the worst nightmare for him.

Eden Hazard has faced multiple issues for his injuries since joining Real Madrid. He has never fulfilled the expectation for these interruptions.

2. Miralem Pjanic 

Club: FC Barcelona

Current Value: €28 million

Previous Value: €48 million [ €20 million dip]

Miralem Pjanic joined FC Barcelona last summer. Pjanic is one of the best deep-lying playmakers of his generation. But he failed to deliver as per his potential since his move last summer.

His market value drops down to €28 million, €20 million less than last year.

1. Clement Lenglet

Club: FC Barcelona

Current Value: €25 million

Previous Value: €50 million [ €25 million dip]

Another FC Barcelona player in the list. The French defender sees the maximum dip in his transfer value this season.

The Frenchman is now valued at €25 million. He was used to be valued €50 million just a year ago.
