Phantom Lawyer Episodes 9–10 Prove That Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom Are the K-Drama Couple We Didn’t Know We Needed

What began as a quirky ghost-themed legal comedy has quietly, beautifully evolved into one of the most emotionally compelling K-dramas currently airing — and episodes 9–10 are proof.

Phantom Lawyer Drama Overview

1. The Moment That Changed Everything — Na Hyun’s Sister

When Han Na Hyun’s sister appears to Shin I Rang, he quickly realises that what this particular soul needs is not justice for an unfair ruling but a more personal closure — not only for herself but for her family, and especially Na Hyun. As silly as it might be to watch I Rang possessed by a teenage girl again, this time it hits harder because there is someone who can actually feel that connection with the soul taking over his body. Na Hyun inevitably breaks down when she realises that, despite I Rang’s ability, her sister can never come back to her — but I Rang remains there throughout as her ultimate supporter. 2. Teaming Up on a Twisted Inheritance Case

Completely on the same side now, Na Hyun and I Rang work together on a complicated inheritance case involving a shoemaker who passed away due to Alzheimer’s disease. The issue is tricky not just for its financial complexity but due to the entangled relationship between the man, his wife, and a late friend framed as a North Korean spy. The opposing side is none other than Yang Do Kyung, who will stop at nothing to prove himself to his father.

Although they don’t completely agree on the course of action, Na Hyun still tries to understand I Rang’s stance — and the more people at Taebaek target him, the more firmly she stands by his side.

3. Na Hyun Steps Up When I Rang Is Pushed to His Limits

In these episodes, I Rang goes through not one but two constant possessions, which naturally takes a toll on him. After witnessing how distressing a possession can be, Na Hyun becomes his ultimate defender — watching him unable to control this side effect of his ghost sighting pulls at her heartstrings.

For every softy like I Rang, there must be a strong person like Na Hyun. Their chaotic dynamic with sprinkles of romance is really enjoyable, and their chemistry — while still developing — is undeniably promising. Free Press Journal
