Psycho Saiyaan review reveals a chaotic romantic thriller on Amazon MX Player. Tejasswi Prakash’s OTT debut struggles with weak writing despite Ravi Kishan’s stellar performance.
Psycho Saiyaan Review: A Promising Concept Lost in Execution
When love crosses the line into obsession, it should make your heart race with fear and fascination. Amazon MX Player’s latest offering, Psycho Saiyaan, promises exactly that—a psychological thriller where passion turns perilous. But does this six-episode series deliver on its dark premise, or does it collapse under the weight of its own ambitions?
Premiering on February 25, 2026, Psycho Saiyaan marks television actress Tejasswi Prakash’s entry into the OTT world. Set against the spiritual backdrop of Ujjain, the series follows Kartik Pandey, a poetry-loving college student played by Anud Singh Dhaka, who falls obsessively in love with the enigmatic Charulata. When she vanishes without explanation, Kartik’s quest to find her spirals into a dangerous game involving gangster Huntry Chauhan, portrayed with menacing brilliance by Ravi Kishan.
The Plot: Obsession Meets Chaos
The narrative begins with promise. Charulata arrives in Ujjain seeking spiritual solace for her ailing grandmother, and her chance encounter with Kartik sparks an intense connection. Their romance blooms quickly—perhaps too quickly—before Charulata ghosts him, claiming their love story has no future. Enter Huntry Chauhan, a powerful gangster who treats Charulata as his possession, setting up what should be a gripping love triangle.
Unfortunately, what follows is a series of illogical twists and forced dramatic turns that test viewer patience. The show attempts to explore how love drives people to madness, but every character makes such baffling decisions that you’re left rooting for none of them. One moment Kartik is financially struggling; the next, he’s chasing his obsession across international borders with no explanation of how he affords it.
Performances: The Only Saving Grace
If there’s one reason to endure Psycho Saiyaan, it’s Ravi Kishan. His portrayal of the ruthless Huntry Chauhan injects much-needed energy into a sinking ship. Whenever he appears on screen, the narrative gains momentum, proving once again why he’s a powerhouse performer.
Tejasswi Prakash looks stunning but appears as confused as the script itself. While she brings visual presence to Charulata, the poorly written character offers her little room to showcase genuine acting chops. Anud Singh Dhaka delivers a passionate performance as Kartik, capturing the vulnerability of a young lover, but inconsistent character development undermines his efforts.
What Went Wrong?
The series suffers from several critical flaws. The writing is disjointed, with abrupt transitions and underdeveloped story arcs. Instead of building suspense organically, the show relies on predictable shocks and exaggerated melodrama. Episodes drag when they should tighten, and crucial character moments get rushed or ignored entirely.
The biggest sin? Episode six, where logic completely abandons ship. The finale descends into absolute chaos, leaving viewers bewildered rather than satisfied. The show oscillates between pulp fiction, romance, and crime thriller without maintaining narrative focus, resulting in an exhausting viewing experience.
The Verdict
Psycho Saiyaan had all the ingredients for a compelling psychological thriller—a talented cast, atmospheric cinematography by Shanu Singh Rajput, and an intriguing premise about obsessive love. The Ujjain backdrop beautifully complements the story’s spiritual undertones, and the production values remain consistently decent.
However, weak writing, restless storytelling, and characters who behave like they’ve never met logic prevent this series from reaching its potential. The show tries too hard to be provocative but ends up being exhausting. It’s a missed opportunity that could have sparked important conversations about toxic relationships and obsession but instead chooses senseless drama.
Final Rating and Recommendation
Rating: 2/5 Stars
Watch if: You’re a die-hard Tejasswi Prakash fan or want to witness Ravi Kishan’s masterclass in saving mediocre material.
Skip if: You value coherent storytelling, logical character development, or have limited time for average content.
Psycho Saiyaan isn’t unwatchable, but it’s far from memorable. In the crowded landscape of romantic thrillers, this one gets lost in its own psychotic chaos, proving that obsession without substance makes for frustrating television.
