Karan Johar’s Review — Key Highlights at a Glance

“Tu Kya Hai Yaar?!” — KJo Loses It Over Ranveer Singh

Karan Johar’s review, shared on social media, was a proper outpouring of admiration. He described Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of Jaskirat Singh Rangi as his absolute career best — calling out the actor’s quiet stares, emotional tears, and screen-commanding swagger as proof that he belongs among the all-time greats of Hindi cinema.

What makes KJo’s reaction resonate is how personal it feels. He wrote that watching the film transported him back to the days of pure, solid Hindi cinema in 70s single screens — those rare movies that left you walking out of the theatre completely satiated and inspired. For a filmmaker who has seen thousands of films, that’s not a compliment you throw around casually.

Aditya Dhar — The Director Who Changed the Game

KJo reserved equal praise for director Aditya Dhar, calling him “a new kind of filmmaker” who doesn’t just meet the mainstream bar — he shatters it and builds a new one entirely. He highlighted how Dhar humanised the antagonist Jaskirat’s layered backstory with impeccable craft, powerful soundscapes, and a cinematic experience that few Hindi films have achieved in recent memory.

As a film director himself, Karan Johar’s appreciation for Dhar’s technical and emotional storytelling carries genuine weight — this isn’t a courtesy post, it’s a masterclass recognition from one filmmaker to another.
