Apple WWDC 2026 Confirmed: iOS 27 and Chatbot Siri Take the Spotlight

Apple has officially announced its biggest developer event of the year, and the buzz is real. WWDC 2026 will run from June 8 to June 12, with the keynote kicking off on June 8 at 10 AM Pacific Time, streaming live on the Apple Developer app, Apple’s website, and YouTube. A limited in-person experience will also be held at Apple Park for select developers and students chosen via lottery.

What to Expect at WWDC 2026

The headline software updates will span the full Apple platform family — iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. But make no mistake — this year, AI is the main event.

Siri Is Finally Getting a Massive AI Overhaul

This is what everyone’s been waiting for. With iOS 27, Apple plans to launch a dedicated Siri chatbot running on Google’s TPUs and cloud infrastructure — but fully owned and controlled by Apple, with its strict privacy safeguards intact.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the chatbot Siri will be baked directly into Apple’s software — not a standalone app — capable of searching the web, generating images, summarizing content, providing coding help, and using personal data to complete tasks.

The model powering it — internally called Apple Foundation Models version 11 — is expected to be competitive with Gemini 3. Apple is also reportedly replacing its CoreML framework with a new one called CoreAI, signaling a deeper platform-wide AI shift.

iOS 27: Performance First, Features Second

A Bloomberg report suggests iOS 27 will prioritize performance, stability, and removing legacy code — rather than dramatic visual changes — potentially improving battery life even on older iPhones. Think of it as Apple’s Snow Leopard moment: less flash, more foundation.
