PSG Sporting Director Leonardo hoping to keep both Mbappe and Neymar

Over the weekend, rumors linking Neymar with a return to Barcelona suddenly came up, with the Brazilian reportedly having changed his mind about extending his contract with PSG. However, as clarified by PSG’s Sporting Director Leonardo, the winger is still happy with things in France and wants to stay.

Moreover, the rumors, at this point can be believed to have been false with the player has reached a verbal agreement to extend his contract with the French Champions a month ago, according to renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The winger has agreed on an extension till 2026, and only the last details are to be sorted out, such as achievement and performance-based bonuses. 

Leonardo recently had a word with Sky regarding the contract extensions and was also asked about the possibility of signing Gigio Donnarumma from AC Milan on a free transfer if the Italian goalkeeper does not reach an agreement to renew his contract with the club.

Leonardo was ‘optimistic’ about Neymar contract because the Brazilian star has not changed his mind, as of today.
One month ago, Neymar reached a verbal agreement with PSG to extend his contract until 2026 – last details to be sorted.

Kylian Mbappe is also in talks with PSG regarding a contract extension. The club owner is supposed to be involved in the negotiations surrounding the Frenchman’s contract. All in all, the Parisians will be hoping to keep both their prized assets for the long term and to win the Champions League in the short term future finally.
